Dogma Brings Good Karma
Dogma Pet Rescue, Inc. was founded in January 2010 by a belief shared by directors Amy Howland, Ann-Marie Pearson and Melissa Gloger Weitzenfeld.
In many ways, Dogma is much like other private rescues. It is an all-breed, all-shape, all-size dog rescue. Dogma is a no-kill organization, meaning that once a dog comes into their care, they will not euthanize it or turn it over to another shelter which may euthanize it. Dogma is dedicated to rehabilitating, caring for and finding permanent placements for homeless dogs. All dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Any other vet care needed while in the care of Dogma is also taken care of until the dog is in it’s forever home.
It is the broader vision of the founders which sets Dogma apart from other rescues. Their goal is to establish a community centered around dog rescue. They actively work with other rescues and shelters to effectively network in order to save as many dogs as they can. It is also a passion of theirs to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering and rescuing as opposed to purchasing a dog. Public outreach is vital and they offer assistance in any way that they can.
Dogma is comprised of all volunteers with no paid staff and all donations go directly to the care of their dogs. Dogma has an amazing group of extremely dedicated volunteers. The volunteers and foster homes are vital to the success of Dogma. Any amount donated to Dogma Pet Rescue is graciously accepted and again, all donations made to Dogma directly benefit the dogs in their care.
Adopt a dogma dog and you will have good karma for life!
